Cellular Beams.
Grayson Engineering Ltd. has purchased the New Zealand Manufacturing license for the production of cellular Beams from Westok UK Ltd.
Grayson Engineering Ltd. has formed a Subsidiary Company, Cellbeam New Zealand Ltd for the purposes of manufacturing and marketing Cellular Beams to Builders and other Structural Steel Fabricators.
Cellular Beams have achieved a high market share in the UK and Europe in the Multi Storey commercial, retail and Leisure sectors, owing to the fact that they can achieve long, column free spans and that they possess regular openings for circular ducting (which permits service integration within the structural zone). It is also a feature of the cutting and re-welding process that the beams can be pre-cambered with minimal additional costs. Cellular Beams are the modern version of the traditional "Castellated Beam". A Cellular Beam consists of a Universal Beam or a Universal Column that is cut using Patented "Ribbon Cut" Technology and re-welded to form a beam that is 40-60% deeper than its parent section. The exact finished depth, cell diameter and spacing are very flexible and typically, a Cellular Beam is up to 2.5 times stronger than it's parent section.
