Kupe Onshore Piperacks

Kupe Onshore PiperacksThe Kupe contract involved the Fabrication of 8 onshore piperacks for the Kupe Gas field in Taranaki.

The works commenced in August 2007 and completion was in April 2008.

As you will see in the photograph, the 8 pipe-racks were constructed in Modules,

Specifically a Top and Bottom component and in some cases on the larger racks, ends and outriggers were constructed for final assembly on site.

The Pipe rack modules were designed and detailed in such a way that the largest and heaviest possible section was transported in one piece as a means of minimising siteworks.

Typically, due to restrictions on the hours allowed on the road with these large over dimensional loads, the trip would take 3-4 days to get to the final destination which was either Robert Stone and Co Workshop in New Plymouth or the Kupe onshore site in Manaia.
